Powering Field Day An interesting idea floated at Field Day 2017 was the start of the power solution for St. Louis Metro Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES). Nine new 2017 EC-001 Course Graduates

Nine Amateur Radio operators are now trained in emergency communications after a class offered by St. Louis Metro Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES). Students and Field Instructor Peter Brisbine, N0MTH, met each Saturday in March at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital. It was brought to my attention that the Introduction to Emergency Communications, 4th Edition book from ARRL is no longer available from the ARRL store. I’ve been in touch with ARRL’s Emergency Preparedness staff and have the following update as of 2/2: “I checked with our warehouse and we indeed have no copies in stock.
